The SHL selected Saskatchewan Shockers G Zeke Zagurski as its Player of the Week. For the week, Zagurski posted a 2-3-0 record with a 2.80 GAA and a .938 save percentage.
On Sunday, Zagurski posted 41 saves to lead Saskatchewan to a 3-2 win over Anchorage. On Friday, he stopped 43 shots as the Shockers toppled New York, 4-2.
“Zeke is a world-class goalie, one of the best in the league,” said Shockers C Napoleon Beasley. “We’d be totally lost if it weren’t for him. No matter how many shots they fire at them, he just stands in there and turns ‘em away and says, ‘Not on my watch!’”
Despite posting a record of 4-15-1 on the season, Zagurski has posted a solid 3.38 GAA and a .924 save percentage, which is second only to Michigan’s Dirk Lundquist in the SHL.
